The experience: This 17th century mansion has been in the Flores de la Tovilla family for five generations—the current owner, Judith Yannini, was born here. She fulfilled her father´s wish to make their ancestral home a hotel and he presides lovingly over the operation from his framed picture on the front desk. You will be welcomed as an honored guest in a lovely family home—what more could you ask for?

You´ll Especially Love
We love how the Posada supports the local textile industry and its indigenous weavers. We love the hand-woven bedspreads in every room and the elegant embroidered regional costumes on the staff. We also love the folkloric ballet that dances every Saturday in the courtyard.

You May Want To Know
We don´t love the bathrooms so much and have requested remodeling. The hotel will be doing this over the next year. They are functional but plain for the time being.

What´s Fabulous Here
It´s location in the heart of downtown San Cristobal.

Who It Would Appeal To
The Posada is perfect for travelers wanting to explore the downtown area, be close to everything and yet enjoy a quiet space for a late afternoon cocktail, reading their guide book and catching up on the days adventures.

Wine & Dine:
Chiapas is known for its light, delicious queso fresco (fresh cheese) and its tasty smoked ham. The Posada put its own spin on these local delicacies: Mexican chef extraordinaire Patricia Quintana helped them design a delightful regional menu and a memorable dining experience. The restaurant itself is located in the central patio area under a glass ceiling; it gets cool in the evenings, so ask for a shot of posch, the local firewater, to warm you up a bit.
