MEXICO BOUTIQUE HOTELS FEATURED IN TRAVEL + LEISURE'S WORLD'S BEST AWARDS
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico -- Mexico Boutique Hotels is pleased to announce that two of its members received recognition in the prestigious annual World's Best Awards, a reader survey conducted by Travel & Leisure magazine (September 2000).
Villas Tacul in Cancún and
Villa del Sol in Zihuatanejo were considered among the world's best hotels by the travelling public who responded to the survey.
Cancun's
Villas Tacul was named in the "Top Cities In The World" category as a "Top Room", citing it as "a boutique alternative to the mega-hotels" with a respondent's suggestion to "reserve a casita". The hotel's setting on secluded gardens fronting a tranquil beach is a rarity in this bustling destination. Formerly the president's guest quarters for visiting dignitaries, Villas Tacul lives up to its reputation for superior service.
Zihuatanejo's 55-room
Villa del Sol was named in the category of "Top 25 Hotels of Mexico and Central and South America" (No. 16). Its regal beachfront suites, Mexican contemporary decor, three pools and two tennis courts would have contributed to its rating for rooms and ambience. It's attentive yet unpretentious "just-when-you-need-it" service would have influenced the service assessment as would its restaurant where the simplest of dishes attain gourmet levels.
The World's Best Awards questionnaire is developed by the editors of Travel + Leisure magazine in association with hospitality research firm Yankelovich Partners. It is sent to thousands of subscribers asking their opinions of many categories of travel services and suppliers. In the hotel category, survey respondents were asked to rate by rooms/ambience, service and value. Survey respondents were also asked to name their three favorite domestic cities, international cities and islands. All responses are reviewed and tallied by Yankelovich Partners who keep them confidential.
