Guest Comments "We stayed at Hacienda Los Laureles for five nights in late December 2006. We chose to stay there based on the excellent feedback it had received on Tripadvisor - and we were really thrilled that we did. The hotel truly is an oasis and we found that being away from the hustle and noise of downtown Oaxaca was a real plus. The gardens and the pool are even more lovely than they appear on the hotel´s website. What really distinguishes the hotel is its excellent service. Unfortunately, our luggage was lost and the front desk staff were extremely diligent in phoning the airport to locate it. We were also blown away when the manager, Peter Kaiser, came with us to the airport late on Christmas Eve to help us retrieve it. Oaxaca is a gem of a place to visit, with so much to see and do in the city itself and the surrounding countrysde. Although we were hesitant to visit after months of civil unrest, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly the city had been cleaned up, the friendly police presence and how safe the city was." New York, NY - Dec. 2006
"Bravo to Peter Kaiser and the entire staff at Los Laureles! From the spa services with sweet Lourdes, to the cooking class with the ever-patient and fun-loving Horacio, to the delicious meals served by our favorite waiters, Julio and Luis, and of course, the wildly stimulating Temescal with Ignacio...this hotel is all about service, and doing all in their power to make your stay a pleasant one. Each day, we would venture up the road to the base of the foothills for a morning jog among the cornfields and cows, then return to our usual table for a scrumptious breakfast (European or Oaxacan choices are available). We might venture into town for the day, or take a tour arranged by VIcky at the front desk, or, as we did on our first day, pamper ourselves at the full-service spa. If you are looking for attention to detail and a relaxing respite from the current chaos going on in and around the zocalo (the teacher´s strike has pretty much taken over the town at this point!), this hotel is your best bet." Absolutely first class - rooms, service, dining Best of all the hotels in or near the city of Oaxaca. And it is above all the hassle of the city. Peace and quiet, but with an excellent VERY frequent bus service into town, or taxi service arranged through the hotel. The gardens are a marvel, and the pool and spa excellent. "I very much enjoyed my stay last february for a week in oaxaca at the los laureles and for a second week in huatulco at the quinta real. One week in the central mountains and one week on the pacific coast! Both properties were exquisitely maintained. The staff were without exception friendly and made us feel welcome and enjoyed assisting us in our excursion planning and requests we made of them. We were able to completely relax and enjoy our vacation time. Without exaggeration I can say that the holiday in each hotel ranked as one of our most favourite holidays. Mr. Miller. USA. May, 2006.
