La Casona - Mexico City
Central - Sophisticated - Detailed

Just a few blocks from one of Mexico City´s most outstanding avenues, Paseo de la Reforma, lies La Casona, a stately home with pink facades and period balconies that evoke the architectural urban splendor of the beginning of the 20th century. This grand building has been completely restored and is listed as an artistic monument by the National Institute of Fine Arts.

While La Casona´s facades preserve the charm and aesthetic codes of an age, its interior offers the pleasures of modern comfort in the variety and quality of its services and spaces where you may enjoy breakfast, an excellent dinner or a refreshing cocktail on a typical Mexican patio. Besides providing excellent and personalized attention, with 29 exclusive rooms La Casona distinguishes itself with the intimate nature of its elegant spaces and warm ambiance. Similarly, although the guest rooms display different decorative styles, they all share distinctive features such as warm-looking wooden floors and exquisite furniture that convey an overall impression of cozy refinement.

From this historic enclave and private setting, you may wander off to discover Mexico City. Located nearby to the west, you will find the forest of Chapultepec, crowned by its romantic castle with a magnificent view of this immense city, or visit the excellent Anthropology Museum. Eastward you may enjoy the highlights of the cosmopolitan and attractive district, “Zona Rosa,” and from here head for the hub of this city, its huge zocalo.

" The 11 days in Mexico were wonderful and I want to sincerely thank you for your help in arranging a great vacation. Our driver from the airport was right there at baggage claim when we arrived and we arranged for him to take us back to the airport the next day. We got in to Mexico City late at night and we didn´t have much time at La Casona as we were leaving for Oaxaca the next day, but we made the most of it. We toured the old mansion for a little while then walked to a nearby Argentinian restaurant for a late dinner and had a great time. There was live music and dancing and really friendly staff, so we felt like we were immediately on vacation. We didn´t get to bed until 2 AM and then had to be off the next day by 11, but enjoyed our breakfast and a walk in the area and would love to come back to Mexico City and spend a week."

So, given a very busy start to the trip, once we got to Oaxaca I had a massage and Mike did the temazcal early on at Hacienda Los Laureles --very relaxing-- and we LOVED the hotel. We actually rode in to the hotel with the daughter and son-in-law of the previous owner of the hacienda; she was able to share stories about growing up on the property and what the village had been like 20 years before. They also recommended things to do in the city and the manager/owner was also very helpful and charming throughout our stay. I met people staying at the old convent--isn´t it a Four Seasons now?-- they came to have drinks and visit at Los Laureles and plan to stay there at there next visit. I gave them your name to contact the next time they make reservations in Mexico as they travel there often. And, finally we had a great time once we got to Huatulco as well. Beautiful site and just perfect for relaxing.
My son and I both thoroughly enjoyed the vacation and I really feel in large part that was based on your excellent suggestions. Hopefully we´ll have a chance to work together again and I´ll definitely continue to recommend your services and the Boutique Hotels."

"...We enjoyed our room, number 23, very much. The spacious sitting area, the arched wall, and lovely green made for a very inviting room. The screen at the head of the bed with the stenciled leaves was particularly charming. The staff was very courteous, helpful and prompt. The recommended Mexican restaurant provided a most memorable meal of jicama appetizers and chicken mole. I appreciate your offering an alternative to look-alike chain hotels. The location also offered an agreeable experience of the city."

"My group had a lovely stay at Hotel Casona. The facility was beautifiul, the staff was gracious and the location was terrific... The rooms, staff and breakfast at La Casona were a pleasure everyday. Your location in Colonia Roma was excellent, providing access to all of Mexico City with great local restaurants and sights. We would immediately recommend La Casona to any traveller to the DF. My wife looks forward to future stays at LaCasona. Thanks again for an exceptional stay."

"We had an excellent time in Mexico City. The hotel was lovely, everyone was very helpful, and it was in a great location. Also, the trip to Teotihuacan and Acolman was perfect. Our guide, Jose Manuel Zepeda Rodriquez, was one of the best guides we have had...knowledgable, interesting, and took us by the Shrine of the Guadelupe on the way to Teotihuacan which I thought was one of the most interesting sites on our trip. You may want to suggest this as a stop for other visitors... Thanks, again for your help in making our stay so memorable. We hope to be back soon."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Casona. The hotel staff were helpful with our requests and the rooms were wonderful, clean and quiet. The concierge also organised a driver, Julio, for our trip to the pyramid site (50 kms from the centre) who was extremely knowledgeable and highly recommended."

The nicest compliment I can give you about La Casona is that we will undoubtedly stay at this charming, lovely hotel again on our next trip to Mexico City. We loved it! The staff was friendly,
accommodating, and did everything they could to welcome us and make us feel at home. Our room was spotless and had all the amenities one needs for a comfortable stay... When we visit other cities in Mexico, we´ll be sure to look for a "Mexico Boutique Hotel". Thank you.

"...staying at La Casona was a tremendous pleasure. The building and the rooms are very comfortable. The location was even better than I hoped for in terms of freedom to move about at night and accessibility to other parts of the city. The most special part was the people who work there, who without exception were generous, warm, friendly, human but also efficient... We also appreciated the recommendations for tours and drivers... I have already recommended La Casona to several friends, and I will continue to do so..."
—Dr. Smith. USA. August, 2007.

"We had a wonderful time at La Casona in May. We enjoyed the intimate scale + historical character of the hotel and the very comfortable, clean, and well-appointed bedroom + bath; we had great drinks + light meals in the restaurant downstairs; we found the coffee bar next door very convenient and the neighborhood easy, safe, and inviting for long walks. We found that the hotel´s location was perfect for all the things we set out to do in Mexico City on a much-too-short visit. We also greatly appreciated the support provided by the concierge and by our wonderful driver, Luis. We look forward to returning again, hopefully soon."
